CONCERT-A-THON! 4 NIGHTS, 5 STARS: Singapore Grand Prix 2013 Formula 1

HERE WE GO AGAIN! This is my 2nd time attending Singapore GP F1, long after Linkin Park & Shakira made their way back at Singapore GP 2011. This year's line-up was AH-MA-ZIIING!  First day we got Big Bang (hey, reunion! same as 2011), second day The Killers rocked the stage, and on the final #F1NightRace we got Rihanna. Not forgetting the unusual, the first ever Closing Concert featuring Owl City and yep, you guessed it right..... JUSTIN BIEBER.

It was probably one of the most epic week, with 5 major pop-stars in 4 nights-in-a-row. THANK YOU! I'm a happy girl in her 20s. LOL.

Concert Scrapbook: The Good Old Days

I used to have a "concert scrapbook" back in the old days. It's basically a memorabilia so that I could keep track of used ticket/pass, proof-of-entry items such as waterproof bracelet, etc, and of course the band/artist pics. The pics I took from my GF1 were mostly taken with ultra-zoom lens which looks quite sharp, and then printed using a Polaroid printer, Fujifilm Pivi MP-300 (ambitious! I know! lol). Sometimes also I list down the band setlist, by memorizing or hunt them via setlist.fm. It's more like a diary, but with more graphics & items to cut & paste because I think I haven't got over my childhood craft class yet :p

Unfortunately May 2011 was the end of page for my concert scrapbook. I didn't have enough time to craft each page, although I still keep all of the memorabilia post-May'11 up until now. And anyway, my polaroid printer is also running out of refill paper and that needs a quick buy in eBay - boo, too lazy! I guess that's why now I am so relieved I have setup this dedicated blog :)

Craig David's Comeback at Java Jazz Festival 2013

Previously I have pointed out that I went to Java Jazz Festival this year only because of Craig David. Which turned out as the MOST hectic concert ever. And I mean it in a bad way. We had to queue abruptly for almost 2 hours outside of the building, and the fact that in the end it was raining quite heavily didn't move the hearts of the freakin' stupid JJF committee to evacuate us inside; instead the situation got worse & people started yelling everywhere, CHAOS.

After we managed to get inside of the concert hall, we had to wait for another >50 minutes, without Craig David apologizing at all - he still managed to show his innocent and "I LOVE YOU JAKARTA"-face, but no, I guess I just don't love you no more, Craig. Especially with your additional DJ act that came out of no where in the middle of the show, it's still awkward for me until now. Why.... just why? Come on, Java Jazz, you can do better than this!

He looks super cool already without DJ-ing. Please, I wish he'd just sing.

P.S: Lesson learned, Java Jazz Festival is better be enjoyed via live streaming. From home.

Java Jazz Festival 2013 - LAST DAY

Went to Java Jazz Festival this year by accident - only because of Craig David. Turns out the lineups at the very last day, Sunday 3 March 2013 wasn't so bad. In fact, Eva Celia & his father, Indra Lesmana were quite the highlight of the day! I love their performance. I also enjoy Kayon's skill show as well. The trio Indra Lesmana, Pra Budi Dharma and Gilang Ramadhan were truly legend! (click the slider below)

And have I tell you that Abdul & The Coffee Theory also rocked the stage earlier on the afternoon? Along with 4 Dekade - Oddie Agam & Friends with Twilite Orchestra; Glenn Fredly & Tompi were amazing as always :)

Coldplay 2012 Mylo Xyloto Tour, Sydney - DAY 2

Laser lighting, fireworks, millions of confettis, colorful beach-sized balls thrown at the hysterical audience, uh-ma-zing sound system, a surprisingly 'moving' stage, super awesome set-list not only from Mylo Xyloto album but also from majority of their albums: Viva la Vida, Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, and X & Y; to the world-famous Xylobands - the magical multi-colored wristband that lights up the entire stadium, twinkled like stars and blinked according to the musical beats (from which I heard, cost them about $640,000 each night!), IT WAS AWESOME.

I flew across 5507 kilometers and only had cup noodles for few days to save up, and it was worth every single money being spent. MUST SEE!

Coldplay 2012 Mylo Xyloto Tour, Sydney - DAY 1

The most memorable concert of 2012 easily goes to... Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto Tour in Sydney 17-18 November 2012! It all started with a wise man's saying,

"You don't know how great a concert should be, until you've seen Coldplay performs for at least once."

And I did it, heck, once is never enough so I went twice. I am a frequent concert goer, and I have seen many great performances but so far none delivers as great as what I experienced during their two days performance - both from Festival (standing) and Tribune (seated) point of view. They're truly the WHOLE package!

See also the Full setlist for Day 1, 17 Nov 2012 and the Full setlist for Day 2, 18 Nov 2012.
