Another Noodle Craze: Mee Kepang at The Foundry 8

.... Anyway, so I’ve heard about this new noodle joint close by SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District) area, named ‘Mee Kepang’. Curiosity brought me, again, through Twitter, so I decided to give it a try. They claimed to serve fresh homemade noodles, a typical noodle called ‘Bakmi Karet’, literally means ‘rubber noodle’ because of its chewiness.

HI, I’M A FOODBLOGGER. HERE’S MY NAME CARD.

The thought of having a so-called Food-Blogger name card has never crossed my mind until recently. I’ve been wanting to (because it’s kinda cool you know, LOL), but afraid I was getting over-confident while I know I don’t write as much & as often. Moreover with the ongoing debacles on social media (mostly Twitter), on how food-blogger ethics or code conduct should be, I was getting quite hesitant to self-proclaim myself as one. It’s a never ending conversation that, ...

Alternatives to Easy Cooking-at-Home: FROZEN FOODS.

Let’s be honest. Despite every issues that tag along once we mention “frozen foods” – chemical preservative, not fresh, altered ingredients only-God-knows-what, etc – we know that some part of us just can’t hide the fact that we love them. We love the practical side of cooking with frozen foods. On certain occasions. It’s quick, convenient, and delicious (IF, and it’s important to mention, ONLY IF you buy the high quality ones such as Fiesta, etc – explicitly means that the ratio of meat versus flour in these snacks is well-balanced.)

I met Adith (Adithya Pratama) back in World Street Food Congress earlier two months ago. From there I could really tell that he's a passionate foodie, and from the way he explains food I just could tell that he's a culinary student graduate - Yes, very much detailed :p. But who knew, he also turns out to be Dapur Cokelat's Pastry Chef, one of the most leading chocolate shop chain in Indonesia, being consistently passionate for providing exceptional-but-affordable cakes & pastries for nearly 12 years.

Travelicious 1st Anniversary: Gathering at Suka Suki FX

When I first heard about Travelicious, I immediately thought that it’s definitely a travel-related website. So when a friend of mine gave me the invitation to their gathering, I really thought I would meet travelers’ community. Well no, I was wrong. Owned by Panorama Group, one of the leading company on tours & traveling industry, Travelicious is a daily-deals website covering travel & leisure, hotel, F&B, even beauty, entertainment and relaxation activities. Much similar to other ‘big players’, the flow is pretty much simple: First you have to become a member, choose the deal you would like to purchase, and finally print to redeem it. Boom. Cheap and easy.

#StreetFoodAddict: Bubur Ayam Madurasa

Yeay, another ‘Bubur Ayam’ street-food! Located quite strategically right in front of Al-Azhar University’s back entrance (just few meters behind the infamous Roti Bakar Eddy’s), where people usually pass through that route to avoid 3-in-1 traffic, there’s this humble street-cart with enormous neon lighting and WiFi. Yes, WiFi. That is new to me. Other street-food vendors need to learn from Aditya Sani, the owner of Bubur Ayam Madura, which also happens to be a Strategist Consultant for one of our biggest telco company. Hence the FREE WiFi is sponsored by them – quite a breakthrough!
